Broadcast (and other) Women Pioneers
Breaking Into a Man's World
The 1970's saw the rise of the Women's Movement and with it the realization by young women that they didn't have to settle for the lives chosen for them. The broadcast industry, in particular, saw a seismic change in on-air broadcasters. I was one of those women who realized I could now enter the world of a previously "men-only-need-apply" field. This lecture uses slides, video and informative and entertaining anecdotes about broadcasters and other women who changed the career landscape forever.
